Introduction
Read our new report on fuel poverty, The Long Cold Winter, published in March 2010.
In this joint project between ippr and National Energy Action, we set out a comprehensive picture of the measures that energy companies and the Government are currently taking to tackle fuel poverty. We highlighted the successes and failures of these approaches and developed recommendations for how the fuel poverty agenda should be taken forward in a context of growing concerns about fairness in the context of climate change policies, and increased pressure on public spending.
Our report, The Long Cold Winter, was published in March 2010 and set out our proposals for tackling fuel poverty in both the short-term and the long-term. Our submission to the Energy and Climate Change Committee's recent inquiry into fuel poverty is available here.
This project was kindly supported by the UK Business Council for Sustainable Energy.
