English Questions: Towards a new policy agenda for England.

02 July 2008

The English Question has recently moved from the margins of British political life to centre-stage. Fuelled by concerns about the perceived inequities of devolution and a growing sense that England and the English are losing out in an unbalanced Union, questions about the future of England are provoking widespread public debate. Within England itself there are also renewed pressures to improve the way England is governed.

This seminar will explore the key political and constitutional challenges facing England and how they might be addressed.

Speakers:

Tony Wright MP
Professor John Curtice, University of Strathclyde
Guy Lodge, ippr
