Previous work
Lisa’s career has spanned campaigning, journalism and policy-making. She spent two years at the BBC as a Social Affairs Specialist advising journalists across the Corporation, including a stint as a producer on the Today programme. As Chair, Lisa was instrumental in transforming Daycare Trust into one of the most influential childcare organisations. In 2006 Lisa was appointed as the Government’s child poverty tsar at the Department for Work and Pensions where she wrote Delivering Child Poverty: What would it take? She also worked as an independent advisor to the Treasury and the Department for Children, Schools and Families. A former Deputy Director of ippr, Lisa returned to the organisation in 2007 to jobshare the role of Director with Carey Oppenheim.
